Grades Posted/ Intersession Work

Grades are posted! Congrats! You worked hard all semester!!!

Intersession work is posted here. I'll be teaching lifetime fitness over intersession - mostly off campus. Please email me at renemacvay@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

NON-book work to do:
1. buy volume 2 wkbk from turtle shop
2. create your goodle site and email me link so I can add it to my website. Your first homework assignment of semester 2 is having your website up and running!

If a few students want to get together and organize a review of semester 1 study session for an hour or two after intersession let me know- I can meet interested people back at school.

Before break I'll add to my website links to interesting books and movies that relate to APAH. Feel free to add to the list if you or your parents run across anything also!

Enjoy your break and intersession class!

Field Trip

Wednesday the 10th we will go to the Norton Simon Museum (http://www.nortonsimon.org/)

We need to be at school by 7:15...I know that is early... our tour is at 11 - we need to leave enough time for travel + traffic. MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH YOUR CARPOOLS!

Our tour is at 11 and we are able to walk through the musem for an hour after...

BRING FOOD - your driver may or may not allow you to eat in the car...that is the choice of the driver. We can eat a snack when we get there before the tour and then eat lunch at 1 after the tour/wander through the museum time. THEN head back to school.

The return trip will be faster as we will NOT have morning commute. According to yahoo maps the trip is 2 hours and 10 minutes without traffic/accidents, etc. Remember to thank the drivers who took the time to join us! Without them the field trip could not have happened!

Once again, please do let your teachers and coaches know! Thanks to your parents for driving!

This image...Vermeer's Lady Writing...on loan from the National Gallery of Art in Washington. BONUS...look to the NGA link and research this painting (+2). BONUS...who is Norton Simon, the man for which the Museum is named? (+3). Responses due PRIOR to the field trip!

LOOK on My class website

Go to the page about Class Presentations - I still have a few links and PPTS to add. If you did not send me yours, do so ASAP...you are taking information from peers but not sharing if you do not.

For those of you that did NOT send me a link to your googlesite - YOU ARE REQUIRED TO CREATE ONE AND SEND ME A LINK...that will be a homework grade over intersession.

All students MUST send me links to their webpages so I can link them to mine. I had you create them as a tool to assist you and your peers. You can always create another "personal" site that each of us can not access.

BONUS TRIVIA:
Go to the National Geographic link - read the story about King Herod. By Tuesday night tell me three things you learned from the article. Use the discussion board on TURNITIN.COM to answer the I learned statement...note...your statements MUST be different from your peers to get credit (+5) for this assignment. The earlier you post...the easier this is!
