Thursday 9-23-10

The Museum Catalog was JUST uploaded to the 2010-2011 Key Documents page of the website. The test is NOT until October 6th but you may wish to start the Aegean adn Greece topics that we started in class.

Tomorrow papers will be returned and a video about ROME. Next week...finish the video and discuss Greece, Etruscans and Rome.

Don't forget...turnitin.com discussion (due Saturday) and Chapter 9 read adn workbook due on Monday.

Monday 9-20-10


Today we discussed Chapter 4 ... the rest of the week will be Greece ... starting the Roman culture by Friday ... that's the goal. Block Day we will spend a bit of time working on our masks.

Chapter 9 Read and Complete Workbook page 82 and 83 all (if image #'s are incorrect, images are the same). Page 84 answer #5. Use page 85 for notes/rough draft. Type answer...essay format. Think organization of thoughts is key to AP Essay Success...one idea per paragraph. Hint...The Frankish Fibula is 16.1 in your text. How would I organize the essay? One paragraph describing each, one paragraph comparing and contrasting, one paragraph commenting on function, a final sentence on your preference.

Anytime you attend a museum event for bonus points, bring your admission ticket, notes from the event and anything they give you/you make to class the next day. I'll have a paper for you to fill out to earn your bonus.

First Test...accomplished

As I posted earlier, Chapter 4 reading and workbook are due on BLOCK DAY. Tomorrow we'll watch a video about the Aegean and Greek Culture.

Turnitin.com discussions have been posted for this week and next. This week check back over comments made from previous weeks. I'll have them completed tonight.

Test return...I ran the scantrons today...will work on the short answers and essays...you'll have everything back by Friday.

Today we finished discussing Egypt and reviewing for Monday's test.

EGYPT



A NEW discussion has been posted on Turnitin.com about Menkaure and his bride. Complete that by 9-11-10 at MIDNIGHT. Starting Tuesday this week...peruse the comments I made about discussion #1.

During the course of the week go to the Articles of Interest page on the Website and read the story about King Tut's Royal Lineage...new scholarly discoveries revealed in the article.
